The Polish Students' Society of the University of Ottawa

La société des étudiants polonais de l'université d'Ottawa
Stowarzyszenie polskich studentów przy uniwersytecie Ottawskim

Who We Are

We are a social and cultural group at the University of Ottawa which promotes and transmits Polish culture and heritage in and around the university community.

As a club, we lead Polish initiatives within the uOttawa student body. Additionally, we support and encourage efforts taken on by the greater Ottawa Polish community.

What We Do

We organize events of all kinds to bring together students of Polish descent, as well as those interested in the language and/or culture. These range from Polish film and pierogi nights, to informal language lessons and social events.

We also act as a liaison between the Polish students and the Polish community at large, working with various organizations such as YPCPA and Polanie.

Becoming an official member of the PSSUO requires a membership card. It can be purchased for $5, and is valid until the last day of August of the current school year. Membership can be purchased online or at any of our events, and is open to students at any post-secondary institution in Ottawa.

Being a member not only supports the club in hosting events, but also has various perks:

  • Access to all our events throughout the year, including member-only events;
  • Access to our members' library;
  • Discounts to various cultural events organized at the University of Ottawa;
  • A 10% discount at Continental Deli, a Polish Delicatessen in ByWard Market;
  • A $10 discount for yearly registration at Polanie Dance;
  • Automatic membership to YPCPA, as well as a discount to YPCPA events throughout the year;
  • and more!
